Restorative Yoga
The Art of Relaxation
Restorative Yoga is a meditative practice that helps calm the mind, reset the nervous system, and relax profoundly the body. This style of yoga is based on spontaneity and gentleness. We use props such as blankets, bolsters, blocks, bricks, belts, sandbags, eye bag, chair, and sometimes even a wall to induce the body and mind into a state of deep relaxation. The goal is to balance the nervous system in order to allow the body to free itself from deep-rooted stress. This allows our body to rest, rejuvenate, and regain its innate capacity for healing. Practicing Restorative yoga allows us to cultivate “the art of doing nothing.” It is one of the most effective tools for combating fatigue, anxiety, depression, and chronic pain. But it is also a deeply transformative path to self-awareness, intuition, and spiritual growth.
Restorative Yoga Expert Audrey Favreau
Audrey Favreau is a certified Restorative Yoga teacher, senior trainer, and international educator.
Her teaching is rooted in the lineage of Judith Hanson Lasater and informed by neuroscience, functional anatomy, and therapeutic practice, with a strong focus on nervous system regulation.
Originally from France, Audrey now lives in the quiet Monferrato Hills of Italy, where she teaches and guides others in the art of slowing down, reconnecting with the body, and cultivating deep, sustainable rest.
After a high-stress career in banking, she discovered Restorative Yoga in Bali in 2012 — a turning point that reshaped both her personal life and her professional path. Since 2015, she has trained more than 1,200 students and supported hundreds of teachers in integrating Restorative Yoga into their classes, therapeutic work, and daily lives.
Audrey is also the author of The Teacher’s Guide to Restorative Yoga, to be published in English by North Atlantic Books in June 2026.
Her work is already available in French (Le Yoga Restauratif, Éditions Grancher) and in Italian (Restorative Yoga: ritrova la calma, gestisci ansia, rabbia e depressione, Edizioni Mediterranee).
Through her courses and trainings, she shares Restorative Yoga as a precise, compassionate, and powerful practice — one that supports resilience, clarity, and a more respectful relationship with the body.
