After Module 1

When knowing the poses is no longer enough

Module 1 put the practice in your own body. Teaching a whole class brings other questions.

  • You know the poses well, and they do not yet add up to a class.
  • A student cannot settle into the setup you planned, and you hesitate over which adaptation to offer.
  • You want to guide a relaxation and are unsure what to say, or when to let the silence carry it.
  • A student is lying still, and you do not know what to look for.
  • You practice for yourself and want to start teaching what you practice.

Module 2 works on each of these moments, chapter by chapter.

Skills you take into your classes

What you will bring into your teaching

  • Set up the twenty-four poses of the module, and name the alternative when a prop is missing.
  • Adapt the props to the body in front of you.
  • Build a sequence that holds together, with a sixty-minute sequencing practicum.
  • Run an intake interview before a class or a private session.
  • Guide a relaxation with your voice, your rhythm and silence.
  • Observe a student in stillness, and adjust the setup.
  • Teach with clear consent, and place your own body safely while you teach.

A new service to offer

What you can offer once certified

A graduate’s example

Floriane, a graduate of the 60-hour certification, now teaches one Restorative Yoga class a week, and a workshop once a month.

What you can offer

  • A weekly Restorative Yoga class.
  • A workshop or a short series.
  • Private sessions, starting from an intake interview.

What your students receive

  • A body fully supported, with no effort to hold a shape.
  • An adaptation when the usual setup does not suit their body.
  • Time in stillness, guided by your voice and by silence.

Who it is for

Is this module for you?

Module 2 is for yoga teachers who have completed Module 1, Restorative Yoga: The Foundations, and want to teach complete restorative classes and private sessions.

  • You teach yoga and want to guide a full restorative class from start to finish.
  • You want to work with one student at a time, from the intake interview to a session built for that person.
  • You are working toward Audrey’s 60-hour Restorative Yoga Teacher certification.

Discover Module 1

Module 1 is required

Module 2 builds directly on the setups and the daily practice you put in place in Module 1. The price of Module 2 does not include Module 1, which is sold separately.

Care professionals

Therapists, physiotherapists, osteopaths, midwives and other care professionals are welcome on the same condition, and use the setups and adaptations within the scope of their profession.

Equivalence

If you trained with Judith Hanson Lasater, Lizzie Lasater or Adelene Cheong, write to [email protected] before you enroll. Audrey looks at the training you completed and confirms whether an equivalence lets you start directly with Module 2.

From Module 1 to Module 2

What Module 2 adds

Module 1 · 20 hours

The Foundations

You learn to practice: six poses studied in detail, twenty minutes of practice a day, and the principles behind supported rest.

Module 2 · 40 hours

The Art of Doing Nothing

You learn to teach: twenty-four poses across the five families, and how to adapt them, sequence a class, observe your students and guide the relaxation.

Together, the two modules form the 60-hour pathway and its thirty supported poses: six in Module 1 and twenty-four in Module 2.

What is included

Everything the price of Module 2 covers.

A Module 2 video lesson on a laptop and a page of the theory PDF on a tablet

  • Video lessons and demonstrations of the twenty-four poses, each with its variations, adaptations and prop alternatives.
  • A full guided relaxation inside every pose recording.
  • A written workbook with every exercise of the module, your practice log, the pages for your two body maps, and the preparation for your sessions and your report.
  • The theory of each chapter as a PDF, with the slides.
  • A question space attached to the lessons, where Audrey answers.
  • Two individual 90-minute sessions with Audrey, live by video.
  • Three years of access, from the day the module opens to you.
  • A certificate of completion at the end of the module.
  • The certification assessment: Audrey reviews your workbook, your body maps and your report, and the assessment is included in the price.

Module 1 and Audrey’s book, The Teacher’s Guide to Restorative Yoga, are sold separately.

What you will study

The module follows the five families of restorative poses, one chapter for each, after a Start here chapter: six chapters in all.

Each chapter opens with its theory, then takes you through the poses of that family. Every pose recording follows the same order: who you would choose the pose for, its setup step by step, its adaptations and prop alternatives, what the teacher observes, and a full guided relaxation written on the five koshas.

The physiology is taught in language a student can follow. When a mechanism is a working model rather than an established fact, Audrey says so.

40 hours · six chapters · opens in May 2027

Chapter 5 · Guiding and the Savasana variations

Poses. Nine variations of Savasana, from Salamba Savasana to the version with no props at all.

For your teaching. What we are guiding students toward, how language shapes attention, voice, rhythm and silence, building a coherent guided relaxation, and your second body map.

Framework. The five koshas.

Your two individual sessions

  • Format. Two sessions of ninety minutes with Audrey, live by video.
  • Purpose. You bring work, and the questions that come from practicing and teaching.
  • When. The first comes after the sixty-minute sequencing practicum of Chapter 4, before you start with your report students. The second comes after you have run one session with a report student, before you write up the other two.
  • Booking. Through the booking link in the Start here chapter.
  • Deadline. Both sessions must take place within 12 months of Module 2 becoming available to you. If you enroll before its May 2027 release, you have until the end of May 2028.

How you work toward certification

Certification is awarded once every requirement below is complete. Buying or watching Module 2 does not award it on its own.

  1. Complete Module 1, or have an equivalence approved by Audrey.
  2. Complete Module 2, with twenty minutes of practice a day.
  3. Fill in the workbook as you go, with its exercises, and keep it as a single PDF.
  4. Draw your two body maps, at the start of Chapter 1 and at the end of Chapter 5, then photograph and date them.
  5. Teach three students. Each practices for seven days, followed by a call one week later.
  6. Write a separate report on your three students, following the requirements set out in the workbook. Allow about six hours.
  7. Send the workbook, the body maps and the report to [email protected] within four months of finishing the module. Correction takes about fifteen days.

These deadlines are separate from your three years of access to the course content.

Four things that are easy to confuse

Certificate of completion

Issued at the end of Module 2. It confirms that you completed the module.

Restorative Yoga Teacher certification

Audrey Favreau’s certification, awarded after Module 1, Module 2 and the requirements above. Yoga Alliance does not issue it. It covers the teaching of Restorative Yoga and does not replace a general yoga teacher qualification or a qualification as a health professional.

Continuing education hours

The full 60-hour pathway, Module 1 and Module 2, provides 60 Yoga Alliance Continuing Education hours through Audrey Favreau, YACEP.

Directory listing

Completing the 60-hour certification also gives you the opportunity to be listed in the Restorative Yoga Teachers Directory at restorativeyogateachers.com, where Audrey is one of the designated teachers authorized to certify Restorative Yoga teachers.

Learn at your own pace, with individual guidance

Study from home, around the classes you teach and the rest of your life. Every recording stays available for three years, so you can return to a setup whenever you need it.

The observation work runs through every chapter. Some exercises are easier with a consenting volunteer, and each one also has a version you can do alone.

Your two individual 90-minute sessions with Audrey add personal guidance to this independent study.

What participants say

Reviews from Audrey’s teacher trainings.

A much deeper level of relaxation

Isabella, Austria

Audrey was able to translate science into common day language so that I could follow easily. The poses were very relaxing and a big revelation for me. I have done teacher training on restorative yoga already but this course is on a much deeper level of relaxation.

The finesse I learned from Judith Hanson Lasater

Peggy, the Netherlands

I really enjoy your way of teaching, not finding very many teachers that work with the finesse I learned from Judith Hanson Lasater.

A journey of awareness inside the body

Ginevra, osteopath

I had forgotten how much this work is first of all a journey of awareness inside the body. I still feel the effects of the practice, and of the space and the silence that opened in me. I am still practising, with enthusiasm. Audrey is extremely competent, professional and attentive, always ready to give advice or personal feedback. I am looking forward to continuing.

Why study with Audrey?

Audrey Favreau has been teaching Restorative Yoga since 2014 and training teachers since 2015. More than 1,300 people have taken her trainings, and over 350 teachers have completed certification.

She is one of three teachers designated by Judith Hanson Lasater to certify in the Relax and Renew® lineage, alongside Judith and Lizzie Lasater, who certify directly.

Her teaching brings together supported practice, functional anatomy and the physiology of rest, with close attention to what a teacher observes: the height of the bolster, the angle of the strap, the breath of a student lying still.

She is the author of The Teacher’s Guide to Restorative Yoga, published by North Atlantic Books, with a foreword by Lizzie Lasater.

Frequently asked questions

The questions people ask before they pre-order.

  • Do I need to have taken Module 1?

Yes. Module 1, Restorative Yoga: The Foundations, is required, and it is sold separately. Module 2 builds directly on the setups and the daily practice you put in place there. If you trained with Judith Hanson Lasater, Lizzie Lasater or Adelene Cheong, write to [email protected] before you enroll: Audrey looks at the training you completed and confirms whether an equivalence applies.

  • When does Module 2 open?

In May 2027. You can pre-order it now. Nothing is delivered before that date, and the whole module opens to everyone enrolled on its release.

  • When does my access start, and how long does it last?

Three years, counted from the day the module opens to you. If you pre-order, your access starts on the release date in May 2027. You go through the module at your own pace and come back to the recordings whenever you need them.

  • Do I need to own every prop?

No. The setups are taught with a full prop list, and the alternatives are given inside each setup, at the moment you would need them. What matters is the shape, the symmetry and the comfort you create with what you have. The full list is a yoga mat, two bolsters, four blocks, four bricks, six to eight blankets, two or three eye pillows, two straps, one or two chairs, a sandbag, and a wall you can put your legs up against.

  • Is the module live or prerecorded?

The lessons are prerecorded, with no fixed dates, so you practice at your own pace, in your own room. Your two individual sessions of ninety minutes with Audrey are live, by video. There are no group sessions.

  • When should I complete my two individual sessions?

Both sessions must take place within 12 months of Module 2 becoming available to you. If you enroll before its May 2027 release, you have until the end of May 2028. The first comes after the sixty-minute sequencing practicum of Chapter 4. The second comes after you have run one session with a report student. You book them through the link in the Start here chapter.

  • What does certification involve, and when can I teach?

Module 1, or an approved equivalence, and Module 2 completed, then three pieces of work sent within four months of finishing the module: the completed workbook as a single PDF, your two body maps photographed and dated, and a separate report on three students you have taught, each practicing for seven days with a follow-up call a week later. Correction takes about fifteen days. Once you hold the certification, you can teach Restorative Yoga classes; buying or watching the module does not give that right on its own.

  • How does Module 2 relate to Yoga Alliance?

The certification is Audrey Favreau’s Restorative Yoga Teacher certification, which Yoga Alliance does not issue. The full 60-hour pathway, Module 1 and Module 2, provides 60 Yoga Alliance Continuing Education hours (CEUs) through Audrey Favreau, YACEP.

  • How can I pay, and can I get a refund?

In one payment of €890, or in four monthly payments of €229, €916 in total. Until the module opens in May 2027, you can ask for a full refund at any time. From the day it opens, your enrollment is final. If you have questions before you decide, book a discovery call with Audrey, or write to [email protected].
